Welcome to MAI

The End of an Era....

posted Thursday October 18th 273[1]

Dear Moving Friends,

After 5 years of grace and goodness, the Moving Arts Institute will be closing its doors on October 28th, 2012. We have lost our lease unexpectedly and must say good-bye to the beautiful studio space that has been a safe haven and home to our dance and yoga community. Among many mixed emotions, one keeps rising to the top for me, and that is a feeling of gratitude and appreciation for all of you and for the opportunity to have created Moving Arts and to have contributed to the dance and yoga community in Elkins Park.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and patronage of Moving Arts. May you continue your practice as seamlessly as time will allow. To that end, I have provided contact information for the gifted teachers who have been so giving of themselves and their expertise (see below). Please get in touch with them directly to find out where and when they will be teaching, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

Peace,

Ettel

~Please Note~ Classes will continue at the current studio space until the end of October.

Free Fall

posted Sunday August 19th Hedy dancing

Dear Moving Friends,

There’s definitely a chill in the air. Just when i thought it would never end, the oppressive heat and humidity of Summer is finally beginning to give way.

Fall is here, the lazy days of summer are over….and as the days are gradually shortening my to-do list is steadily growing longer.

In a few more weeks cardigans, scarves and closed toed shoes will be de rigueur. So take a deep breath and relax into it….free fall!

At Moving Arts we’re gearing up for a wonderful season, and I, for one, am thrilled to introduce an exciting new class called Hedy Tower Technique & Improvisation

This class (starting October 8th) is based on the teachings of the late Hedy Tower ~ a renowned dancer, choreographer, mime & teacher ~ this amazing class is being taught by Robin Jarrett and offers a range of movements that will warm the heart   and make the body beam with aliveness.

Please check out our new fall schedule to find the class that perfectly meets your needs.

Movement is life….
